How long must we wait
until we’re willing to hear
everyone’s story?
~
Not all tales merit
an ear but the sooner we
listen, the more we can learn.
How long must we wait
until we’re willing to hear
everyone’s story?
~
Not all tales merit
an ear but the sooner we
listen, the more we can learn.
When filled with regret
how can we create some space
for love to enter?
~
When your heart’s hard drive
fills with regret and hate,
delete those useless programs.
When emotion takes
over and reason takes flight,
are we in for love or war?
~
In both love and war
reason always surrenders
to emotion’s whip.
How can we honor
those who tend the land without
exploitation and abuse?
~
We can honor them
with our purchase of the fruits
of an honest farmer’s work.
What would help us make
joyous laughter the second
language of our land?
~
Why just settle for
second place when laughter can
communicate more than words?
Is there anything
quite like canine companions
to lavage our souls and soles?
~
For therapeutic
washing of the soul, they can’t
be beat, but I’ll pass on feet.
On these sunlit days
when even the grouchiest
smile, what is ours to do?
~
We could join them, like
Iguanas, and bask on some
sun warmed stones, leisurely.
When cupid’s arrows
miss their mark, where should we turn
for satisfaction?
~
Return, perhaps, to
that reflection and therein
find a lovable target.
And those unseeing
souls, are they not expecting
adoration from others?
~
To see and be seen
is both a need and a gift
if we could but see.
If you could unwrap
only one gift for the whole
world, what would it be?
~
My gift for the world
must remain encased, always,
safe inside Pandora’s Jar!
