Rough seas and strong winds
will buffet many dreams and
tatter our prosperity.
When all is alive
with the promise of springtime,
why must some embrace darkness?

Darkness seems to be
the chosen ground for those who
lack a way to grow within.
How many members
of Congress does it take to
reach enlightenment?

Enlightenment can’t
Be reached by consensus!
For some, perhaps, hope remains.
When every which way
we look, we can only see
dark dead-ends, what then?

Then, perhaps, the time
is ripe, to cast a little
light into those dark corners.
Is there any hope
that spring’s coming warmth might
thaw this fury frozen globe?

Hope springs eternal
so may this Spring’s warmth extend
to human hearts and bring peace.
