Is it comforting
that, on this life long journey,
spirit guides accompany?
~
Be it spirit guides
or guides enfleshed, it is good
to know we don’t walk alone.
Is it comforting
that, on this life long journey,
spirit guides accompany?
~
Be it spirit guides
or guides enfleshed, it is good
to know we don’t walk alone.
Why is it so hard
to simply say,”I’m sorry”
even when we know we’re wrong?
~
A mea culpa
can, sometimes, open a door
to truths one would rather hide.
If the world is our
Oyster, why can we never
Seem to find the stinking pearl?
~
Perhaps it’s because
we don’t open the oyster
and thus miss the pearl within.
Why do cherries weep,
floral tears of softest pink,
in this joyous time of year?
~
Perhaps we mistake
joy for sadness as they bend
to kiss the warming earth.
How can we come to
understand others
when we barely know ourselves?
~
Insight is quite rare.
It’s pretty scary inside there.
So much easier just to stare!
As time grows shorter
blank page asks, “What is the sound
of one poet napping?”
~
When in a hurry
how can we keep from being
flurried and uncalm?
~
Bury the flurry.
Erase the haste and worry
not about the coming storm.
Could all this talk of
spring and bloom, bud and blossom,
yield libidinous ardor?
~
That’s a question best
answered by the birds and bees
and those ever young at heart.
Did little boy blue
have to blow his horn because
nobody else would?
~
The inuendo
that’s galloping through my mind
is best withheld, at this time!
Does great wealth provide
greater potential to cause
greater good or greater ill?
~
It’s all a matter
of what matters to the one
who’s blessed with such wealth.
When the least among
us have so little, what do
those who have the most still have?
~
Like those with little,
those who have the most still have
a choice of how to use it!
Now that April fools
had their day, dare we hope the
“fools on the hill” are done too?
~
As long as there’s fools’
gold to be had, you can count
on those fools to persevere.
Who is more foolish
today – the fooler or the
one caught being fooled?
~
The true fool is he
who responds in anger to
one who honors him with glee.
On our myopic
leaders: Is their vision fault
a problem of eye or heart?
~
To see or not to
see is a question for all
leaders’ and followers” hearts.
When did our leaders
lose concern for others and
turn the focus on themselves?
~
Mighty myopic,
are they not? They can’t see past
their fear, to clearer futures.
Our founding fathers
did not fight for our freedom
to impress others, did they?
~
You might be thinking
not of our founders but of
Young Turks on the hill.
But what about those
who peddle us their poisons
in liberty shaped bottles?
~
Just as clothes don’t make
the man, neither does container’s
shape reveal what lies within.
When confronted by
harsh and bitter, unpleasant
truth, what is the best response?
~
Because the truth can
set us free, we must embrace
unpleasant liberators.
How likely is it
that we will ever see real
liberty at Liberty?
~
I suspect I’m not
“at liberty” to say, but I’ll
bet “Sweet Briar” flowers first!
Since we’ve managed
to vint heavenly nectar,
what is manna’s recipe?
~
Manna’s recipe,
at the risk of sounding not
modest, is momma’s.
And when that light shines,
What manner of creepy things
Will scurry for deeper clefts?
~
When light reaches breadth
and depth, perhaps then creepy
things will be transformed.
And what, do pray tell,
Is it, about our demise,
That seeds such dread in us?
~
Ah, if only it
were not so final perhaps
we’d be able to relax.
With united goals
and singular purpose,
how can we be overcome?
~
Trust me, my dear son,
when I say we have somehow
always found a way.
Words can not describe
The truth of any thing. So,
Why do we talk constanly
~
The truth that silence
brings can pierce our defenses
and reveal reality.
When ignorance is
bliss becomes the foundation
of belief, what can be done?
~
You can quote Occam
to the closed minded fools,
but his razor will miss them.

If the Almighty
made this yesterday, can’t he
heal all our rifts tomorrow?
~
The earth might be more
cooperative than our
hardened human hearts.
Since years always pass,
isn’t it better to note
as they come not when they’re gone?
~
While it is good
to note comings and goings,
it’s great to be present now.
It’s tough not to cry
In the face of Old Nick’s lies.
Is indignation better?
~
Don’t let Old Nick snag
you with his lasso of lies.
Tie him in knots with laughter.
If angels dance on
the head of a pin, what is
the devil’s venue?
~
The Supreme Courthouse?
House of Representatives?
The C.I.A. Headquarters?
Why do we allow
the mongers to peddle us
fear in these wholesale job lots?
~
We’ve forgotten how
to laugh them out of business.
Let’s begin right now.
