Knox was lost, but now
he’s found, yet somehow I feel
like the one who’s saved.
~
Salvation will come
to those who are deserving
whether they want it or not.

“Practice makes perfect“
may be the easy answer,
but perfect chaos needs none.
~
Perfect chaos helps
one see the unpracticed skills
of imperfection.
Did he think he’d sweep
her off her feet with that broom
mop combo for Valentine’s?
~
That ranks right up there
with that old vacuum cleaner
one sad Christmas years ago.
Diamonds everywhere
on this winter day. Surely,
we are very rich.

We were rich before
diamonds rained down from the sky;
such is the way of blessings.
If you try to duck
the fact you’re a silly goose,
I’ll crow about it.
~
I’d pay a pretty
Guinea, for those waterfowl.
I’ll just try a Squab instead.
Socialization
is more than recreation,
it’s more of a way of life.

whose preferred way of life is
one of solitude.
After Knox watches
DogTv, I hope he comes
away edified.
~
Likely mortified
by the populist dogma
that populates the airwaves.
How do we lose track
of our pre-planned scheduled posts?
Poetry’s not surgery!
~
Poetry’s written
in a non sterile place where
all manner of bugs await.
Cat leaves small presents.
I sadly decline. Perhaps
you’d like to opine.

All those moles and voles,
though not appreciated,
will eat no more Iris bulbs.
In whom do you trust
and is your faith well founded
if you’ve chosen unwisely?

wherever and whenever
it flows. It’s there my faith grows.
Fat squirrels smile
as they down the last bird seeds.
The birds and I groan.

Smile in relief
because chubby smiling squirrels
won’t eat your car’s wiring.
A brisk winter’s walk
with ebony fur clad pals
provides a moment of joy.
~
It’s the simple things
that can often shift a mood
and make things better.
There’s always room for
change, but that room often gets
stockpiled with excuses.
~
Some things never change;
like the stockpile of trash
in her excuse of a room.

with no concern for profit,
warrant positive regard.

us lifts our spirits, gives us
hope and points the way.

how inhumane we can be.
~
Might humility
aid in the reformation
of us inhumane humans?

governments restricting guns;
~
but, not so much, banning books?
It’s not important
to insure our safety, but
they must conserve ignorance.

you were Movie Boy. Do you
remember your escapades?
~
How could one so young
be attuned to the culture
that would engender “Me Too”!
Will it or won’t it?

a weather psychic, they’d get
a sense of how the wind blows.

the right time to say out loud
what you haven’t said before?

no sign of stopping.

times, may we not lose sight of
all that is good in this world.

Seeing challenges
around every single bend
hides the forest behind trees.
Even cloudless skies
seem a watery gray now
in, this, the soul of winter.
~
There are some who say
winter has no soul, but they
are summer lovers.
trees and grass glistened with rain,
but now they’re coated with snow.
~
Barring arctic chill,
another hour’s passing
may yield a sty’s worth of mud.
This white line fever
of freshly laid road salt brine:
harbingers of, yet more, snow.
~

weather, we wondered what could
the new year bring. Now we know.

equilibrium when our
world turns upside down.

yield their own kind of balance.
