Absurdist in Chief,
America’s Vaude-Villain,
directs political burlesque.
Shadows freely dance,
flashing across the dashboard,
spotlit by the setting sun.

Soon those shadows will
continue their dance beneath
the light of a waning moon.
About that sea change –
any chance it could begin
by this November?

That’s the tricky thing.
Unlike currents or the tides,
sea changes come as they will.
Nationwide doldrums
are forecast to continue
